Dian Cohen

Dian Cohen, a noted political economist, journalist, and broadcaster, Murray Bryant, Professor and former MBA and EMBA Program Director at the Richard Ivey School of Business, and John Crocker, former President and CEO of Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan are the three volunteer members of this board.

Dian Cohen is the founder and president of DC Productions Limited, an economic communications consulting firm specializing in the analysis and dissemination of strategic financial, business, and economic information. Dian is a political economist by training, a well-known broadcaster and author, recipient of the Order of Canada, and other honours and awards for the excellence of her economic communications skills. Dian was former National Business Editor of CTV. She consults widely and speaks frequently on the global economy and its implications for government, business, the non-government community, and individuals.

Dian is a past director of Sun Life Financial, sitting on the Audit, Risk Assessment and Governance Committees, Canadian Pacific Limited (Audit, Compensation and Environment Committees), International Institute for Sustainable Development (Chair, Audit Committee), and at present sits on the Boards of the Canada Foundation for Innovation (Governance and Nominating Committee), Royal & Sun Alliance (Nominating Committee), Nexfor Inc. (Pension, Environment, Health & Safety Committees, Chair, Governance Committee), and Great Lakes Hydro Income Trust (Audit Committee).

Murray Bryant

Murray Bryant is a Professor and former Director of the MBA and EMBA programs at the Richard Ivey School of Business. He joined the Ivey faculty in 1996. His teaching and research area is Accounting, specializing in strategic costing for management decision making. Professor Bryant is active in a number of organizations, including the Canadian Deposit Insurance Corporation, Domtar, Industry Science Canada, and Unum Corporation. He previously taught at University of Toronto, IMI, Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, University of Auckland (NZ) and University of Otago (NZ), University of Manitoba, Johannes Keppler Universitad (Austria), and LIMAK Internationale Management Akademie (Austria).

John Crocker

John Crocker is the former President & Chief Executive Officer of the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). With billions of dollars in net assets, HOOPP is one of the largest and most successful pension plans in Canada. John joined HOOPP in late 1998 as Chief Investment Officer, bringing with him more than 30 years' experience in the investment industry. He directed the management of the HOOPP Trust Fund during a period of rapid market growth and organizational change.

John is a Chartered Financial Analyst; a member the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts (TSFA), the Association for Investment Management & Research, and the Pension Investment Association of Canada (PIAC); and a past director of the TSFA
